A chat with Carol and Liz..

There has been a lot of uncertainty in property in recent times and this is not something that people in Perth are used to. The Perth housing market has enjoyed relative stability and continued growth over several decades but in recent years this has been rocked a little with some decline or stagnation in house prices.

However, there is good news ahead. Currently, interest rates are very low and this has a positive impact on stimulating the housing market. This is combined with a lower unemployment rate than is being experienced in other parts of the country. Both of these statistics draw a positive picture for our local housing market.

We know from experience that whilst statistics are useful indictors they often provide an overall big picture so what are we seeing in the Town of Kwinana? There are several signs that the local housing market is recovering. Since the New Year our office has been seeing real evidence of this. Both the days on the market and sale to asking price results have been improving. Anecdotally, we are seeing more buyers around at home opens. This is good news for sellers.

In the commercial sector, there is a considerable amount of money being invested in development, building and redevelopment. All of this will serve to improve the services available in the Town of Kwinana and make it a more attractive place to live. The local council is continuing to invest heavily in both the town centre in Kwinana as well as several construction projects across the suburbs that will enhance the local facilities. Over time, the Town of Kwinana will start to build a strong reputation based on these significant investments. This will attract buyers into the local area, both now and in the future.
